POEM - The Midnight Ray

The Midnight Ray

Starry eyed wild child looking for the weekend.
Tomorrow is today and today has no end.
Freedom flight flying so high. Flying so high.
The past is the past.
Good times always last.
One last trip to say goodbye.

And in the midnight ray
shadows dance on the wall.
Time slowly ticks away.
Till we all take that fall.

Depressed, suicidal loner looking for someone.
One pill, two pill, three to kill the pain just because.
Nothing to do 'cept die like the rest.
The now is now.
Rock bottom hits the ground.
So don't die like the rest.

And in the midnight ray
shadows crawl cross the floor.
Good life gone to waste.
Wasted away - fading away.
Fading off to never more.

Used and abused. Tortured soul torn apart.
Raped life cause of who you are.
Who you are you do not know.
Today is today.
Whatever happened to yesterday?
Will life have a tomorrow?

And in the midnight ray
shadows creep forever.
Living a life of pain.
Living the life of never.

Life in the midnight ray,
fades AWAY.
Only to say goodbye
to the ray of midnight.
To the thing that you call your life.
